        Rated 5 out of 5 by from A WORTHY NEW FRAGRANCE IN THE A*MEN SERIES For 2025, Jacques Huclier and Louise turner brought us A*Men Stellar, which opens on my skin with plenty of original A*Men DNA that is always comforting and nostalgic, taking me back to 1996 when I was thirty two and ending my London nightclubbing days. Pistachio is in the opening, but not to my nose. I love Persian and American Pistachio's but I do not recognise their aroma here. If I didn't know that Pistachios were listed in the ingredients, I would say a 'nutty' accord, not quite hazelnut, perhaps a handful of mixed or chopped nuts (Brazil, Walnut, Pecan). On my skin within five minutes of contact the nutty accord settles to a coffee cream, maybe an Irish coffee liqueur. Soothing, beautifully balanced, deliciously gourmand. A floral underdone creeps in after ten to fifteen minute on my skin, and I detect that mild lavender and then the magic starts to begin at thirty minutes for me. A velvet layer kicks in and a carpet of what smells like Tonka beans and coffee swirl luxuriously around, wafts greeting my nostrils as I go about my daily duties. This is not quite as gourmand as Fantasm, not so sweet, but there are similarities and I like the complexities in Stellar, that battle for supremacy. Patchouli is listed as the base note and styrax, a dry balsamic note with floral and woody nuances, and also musk which is commonly used to ground a fragrance. It is not overpowering, has modest projection and sillage, but is again one of those quietly elegant fragrances I would wear simply for my own pleasure. I do not always need to fill a stadium with scent to make an entrance or impression. Then into the dry down after a few hours there is a note that I really like, but cannot quite put my finger on. After several days of using Stellar I pinpoint it. Perhaps somewhat bizarrely, to my nose it resembles exactly the smell of fresh original 'Sugar puffs' breakfast cereal in the packet! A fantastic aroma. Sadly Stellar does not possess A*Men Fantasm's longevity qualities form the previous year, and within two hours on my showered and moisturised skin Stellar had lost projection and sillage and was more of a very close skin scent on me. It smelled lovely still, but had none of the power and projection of Fantasm. It remained close to my skin, pleasing my nostrils for five hours and was then all but a memory, like the days of my youth! A beautiful aroma, utterly wonderful, a gorgeous swirl of aromas that I truly do love, a worthy flanker in the legendary Mugler A*Men and flanker series and I applaud L'oreal for the three fabulous fragrances they have given us so far, and for renewing my love for a series I first fell in love with back in 1996.

Perfect for date night and classy events, will certainly have people commenting on how good you smell. Also lasts a good while, being a parfum so little need to reapply.
