Cannes, Sunday May 13th: it’s the big day for the 2018 edition of the Fashion for Relief show. Founded by Naomi Campbell in 2005, the Fashion For Relief charity helps the most impoverished by organizing an annual charity show, gathering top models and celebrities outside the Cannes Film Festival. On the program: a concert, a fashion runway show, and a dinner-party followed by an auction, celebrating this year’s theme, “The Race for Equality”. All profits from the evening went to the Time’s Up movement for gender equality and to the American association Save The Children that helps disadvantaged children across the world through health, protection and education programs.

Naomi Campbell, of course, but also Bella Hadid, Natalia Vodianova, Winnie Harlow, Natasha Poly, Sara Sampaio and many other models stormed the catwalk wearing different pieces from creators around the theme of “Fashion Tribes”, while on the red carpet we saw singer Carla Bruni, actor Adrian Brody, top model Farida Khelfa and even Virgil Abloh, the new Creative Director at Louis Vuitton Menswear, among other influential people for the fashion business.

For the occasion, MUGLER lent three from its archives: the zebra coat embroidered with horse hair from the Fall-Winter 1995 show at the Cirque d'Hiver, the mousseline dress embroidered with raffia and feathers from the Spring-Summer 1988 “African Summer” show, and last but not least the pink silk dress, embroidered with ostrich feathers from the 1998 Spring-Summer Haute Couture “Jeu de Paume” show.

More eager than ever to support equality and the environment, MUGLER was proud to participate in this important moment in fashion.
